JIM CORBETT ZONES

Jim Corbett National Park is divided into several tourism zones, each offering a unique wildlife experience. These zones differ in landscape, forest density, wildlife sightings, and safari access, allowing visitors to choose a zone based on their travel preferences.

DHIKALA ZONE

Dhikala is Corbett National Park’s largest and most beautiful zone, with most safari routes going via the Ramganga River. Dhikala is known for the chaur, or grassland, which is one of Asia’s largest grasslands. The Dhikala zone tourism region contains Sal forests, mixed forests, river bottoms, and grasslands that sustain a variety of wildlife species. The Ramganga River is the main focus of the Dhikala zone. It is also an excellent destination for individuals seeking a rest in nature. Dhikala is also known as the heart of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The Royal Bengal Tiger and Asiatic elephants are the main highlights among the diverse fauna in the Dhikala zone. The safari canter usually stops at a forest rest house where visitors can enjoy the Ramganga River and witness the wildlife.

BIJRANI ZONE

The Bijrani safari zone has a very diverse range of flora and fauna. Wildlife enthusiasts visiting the park for a day trip favor the Bijrani zone, which is located at a distance of around 2 km from Ramnagar city. It offers visitors a fantastic opportunity to experience the stunning forests. Bijrani is the second-finest safari zone after Dhikala for spotting tigers. The zone is famous for its beautiful landscape and is in a very calm and quiet location. All visitors admire the beauty of this location. This zone is reachable via Amdanda Gate.

JHIRNA ZONE

The Jhirna Jeep Safari Zone is one of the most attractive areas of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The Laldhang Chaur is a huge chaur (grassland) that surrounds Jhirna. Wild animals, such as elephants and deer, love this area. The Jhirna zone’s entrance gate is Dhela Gate, which is about 15 kilometers from Ramnagar. The safari for the Jhirna zone is organized all year with two shifts per day and a maximum of 30 Jeeps per shift. A maximum of six people and two children (under the age of 12) are allowed in a gypsy.

DHELA ZONE

Dhela Safari Zone is a popular zone of Jim Corbett National Park, known for its open grasslands, sal forests, and rich wildlife diversity. It remains open throughout the year, making it a convenient option for visitors. Wildlife commonly seen here includes deer, elephants, wild boar, and a wide variety of birds. The zone offers a peaceful and scenic jungle experience close to nature.

GARJIYA ZONE

Garjiya Zone is a beautiful jungle location in Jim Corbett National Park. This zone is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species. When it comes to safari options, the Dhikala tourism zone is up against Garjiya. The location is well-known for its gorgeous scenery as well as its serene and peaceful environment. Visitors praise the deep forest’s natural state. This is one of Corbett Park’s most tiger-friendly areas.

DURGA DEVI ZONE

Durga Devi Zone is a mountain safari zone within Corbett National Park that is rich in animal beauty and adventure. Durga Devi Range, located on the park’s north-eastern border, is bordered by the Ramganga and Mandal rivers. This area is well known for its wild elephant sightings, and visitors can also enjoy fishing at Domunda Bridge. The famous Mahasheer fish can also be found in the Durga Devi Range’s river water. This range’s green forest also gives plenty of opportunities for bird watching.
