Canter Safari

A canter safari is popular in that it allows for 16 people at a time as well as 4 canters per shift in the morning and afternoon, respectively. It is a shared safari, and Canter is similar to an open minibus. A canter safari visits the Dhikala zone, which is located in the centre of Corbett Tiger Reserve or Jim Corbett National Park and is well recognized for its density and beauty. If you do not have a permit for an overnight stay in Dhikala, a canter safari is the best way to see the zone. The safari canter usually stops at a forest rest house where visitors can enjoy the Ramganga River and witness the wildlife.

The Canter safari begins at the Ramnagar Corbett office.Passengers who have pre-booked permits can board the Canter from the Ramnagar boarding point or Dhangarhi gate for the safari. There are two canter safaris every day, one in the morning at 6 a.m. and another in the afternoon at 12 p.m.Canter safaris are available from November 15 to June 15.

• Day visits to all zones are strictly regulated based on scientifically estimated carrying capacity, with only a limited number of vehicles allowed entry each morning and afternoon.
• To avoid any inconvenience, visitors are urged to familiarize themselves with gate timing and arrive well before the allocated time.Reach the gate at least 45 minutes earlier to complete check-in formalities.
• Inside the forest, alcohol and meat are strictly prohibited.
• Private vehicles are ‘not’ permitted entry into the park for tourism purposes, and visitors utilize specially designed vehicles registered with CTR for this purpose. Day trips to the Dhikala Ecotourism Zone are only authorized on specially adapted Canter buses.
• Canteens are available at Dhikala, Bijrani, and Gairal. Kitchen facilities have been installed at additional locations.
• Visitors can board the Canter bus from the Ramnagar boarding point or Dhangarhi gate for the safari.
• Canter safaris will be booked in advance. Booking begins 45 days before your tour date.
• Children under 11 years old do not need a ticket.but if you would like to reserve a seat for them, please buy an additional ticket as children are not allocated seats by default.
• Our guests choose to stay the night and go on a safari at their own risk, and our firm accepts no responsibility for any unforeseeable accident that occurs as a result of a misfortune beyond our control.

• Each visitor’s full name, age, and gender as displayed on their identity cards must be submitted, together with the confirmed amount.
• Safari timing (morning/afternoon) and preferred travel date
• Your specific ID card number (Voter ID, Aadhaar No., Driver License No., etc.)
• Safari entry price paid in advance Booking confirmation is based on the receipt of the full advance payment and a confirmation from us.
• The payments for the Jeep Safari and Canter Safari are no refund and no exchange.
• Please provide the same ID card at the gate that was used to make the online reservation.
• Please notify us 45 days in advance (for Indian citizens).
• Foreign nationals can request reservations 90 days in advance.
• Reservations for overseas travellers must include passport information.
• Safari permits are given on a first-come, first-served (subject to availability) basis.
• If your safari is cancelled due to a technical issue or a seat being unavailable, we will return the entire payment to the bank account you provided. This would be communicated appropriately.

• Visitors are required to get registration permits online.
• It should be remembered that the Corbett National Park entry permit is provisional and can be amended or cancelled at any time without prior notice.
• In this regard, the order of the Corbett Tiger Reserve Director shall be final; we are governed by the rules established under the guidelines.
• The entry permit you have is not transferable.
• Only legally registered guides are permitted to accompany your tours; please do not attempt to replace the guide or naturalist.
• After sunset, entry to the National Park is strictly restricted.
• Except for tourists staying in the forest lodges, day trips to the Dhikala Tourism Zone are not permitted.
• It is strictly forbidden to get down of the vehicle while on a Jeep safari.
• Avoid bringing pets on holiday tours because pets are not permitted inside the CTR.
